
Valasia Dodulu (b. Thessaloniki, 1995) is a multidisciplinary artist, vocalist, and animation filmmaker. From an early age, she has been distinguished, receiving first prizes in painting competitions, including the Children’s Biennale (2008). She was admitted to the School of Visual & Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) before completing secondary education, in the category of "talents", and graduated with honors from the Department of Sculpture in 2019. She holds an MA in Audiovisual Arts from the Ionian University, graduating with distinction, and studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts (Bellas Artes) of the University of Granada on an IKY scholarship. She is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University.
With a background in classical, traditional, and improvised music, she has appeared as a vocal performer in concerts and international festivals in Greece and abroad, including the Ano Poli World Music Festival (2025), Olympus Kalyva Festival (2025), Balkanik Festival (2024), Hola Flamenco Festival (2022), and the Alhambra Festival (Granada, 2018). She has collaborated with a wide range of musical ensembles, including Ortak Toprak, Rumeliko, Synbanda Orchestra, Balkan Session of Athens, Mousiko Polytropo, Zoi Quartet, Havas Trio, Ziziroi, Caja Secreta, Azafran, and Ajzan Balkan.
Her artistic practice encompasses solo and group exhibitions (including Humanscapes), sculpture symposia, performances, and animation films, as well as collaborations with institutions such as the Greek National Opera and the Biennale. Animated films she has directed have been screened on television and at international film festivals, where they have received multiple awards.
